Understanding Our Platform
Blue Gum Horizon is a static website powered by PHP templates. There is no database behind it, no user accounts, and no server-side data storage. When we say your data stays on your device, that is literally what happens — localStorage in your web browser holds your scores and preferences, and nothing is sent to any server.
No Accounts, No Sign-Up
You do not need to create an account to play. There is no registration form, no email verification, and no profile page. This was a deliberate choice. We want you to be able to visit the site, play a game, and leave without handing over any personal information. The age confirmation prompt is the only interaction required before you start playing, and even that response is stored only on your device.
How Daily Mode Works
Each game features a daily challenge that is identical for all players on a given calendar day. This is achieved through a date-based seed — a mathematical function that uses the current date to generate the same set of numbers, symbols, or card layout for everyone. When the date changes, a new challenge is generated. Your daily streak counts how many consecutive days you have completed the daily challenge for each game.
How Scoring Works
Points in Blue Gum Horizon are simply numbers stored in your browser. They do not represent currency, tokens, credits, or anything with real-world value. You cannot exchange them, transfer them, or redeem them. They exist purely as a way to track your performance across sessions. Think of them like the score in a crossword puzzle app — a measure of how well you did, nothing more.
Technology Behind the Games
Every game is built with plain JavaScript — no libraries, no frameworks, no external dependencies. The animations use CSS transforms and opacity changes, which are handled efficiently by modern browsers without causing performance issues. We specifically avoided heavy animation libraries and canvas-based rendering to keep everything lightweight and accessible.
